Come to the Regina Folk Festival!

REGINA FOLK FESTIVAL

Many music festivals are fun but exhausting. Festivals like Bonnaroo and Coachella are world-famous for good reason, but if you actually go to these events you’ll see they have a downside. Thousands of people crowd into the same spaces while the sun beats overhead and vendors sell overpriced bottles of water in single-use plastic. The music’s great, but bigger festivals are something to do when you’re young and, frankly, don’t know any better.

If you’re older or just wiser, then you should check out the Regina Folk Festival – where what you’ll experience first and foremost is MUSIC. It’s celebrating its 50th year this year, and that’s for good reason – it’s a great time for everybody. Taking place August 9-11 in Victoria Park it’s going to be a great time.

This year’s guests include:

Blue Rodeo: These quintessential Canadian musicians combine country-tinged tunes with soulful singing and great songwriting. They’re basically an institution at this point and they always put on a great show.

Jason Isbell: Jason Isbell is a one of a kind songwriter, able to imbue his songs with aching humanity that makes your heart hurt and swell. Not to be missed.

The Dead South: The Dead South hail from the Canadian prairies but they conjure sounds of the old, weird America and timeless tales of love, grief, and regret. They also happen to rock.

Rae Spoon: Rae Spoon is a fearless provocateur, a dance wizard, and a gender spectrum warrior. They make incredible tunes that explore life and love in the 21st Century with tenderness, sensitivity, and awesome grooves.
And that’s not all – be sure to stick around all weekend to catch workshops where all these great musicians share the stage and collaborate!

Attending Folk Fest? Enjoy a more civilized pace of life by booking a room at the Days Inn Regina Airport West. Our comfortable beds and complimentary breakfast will ensure that you never miss the days of “roughing it” in a tent at a festival.
